STYLE UPDATE

OCTOBER 2023

Temperatures are dropping, let’s talk hair care!

So it’s starting to actually feel like fall... well sort of. But we do know that the temperature will gradually start to drop, and that means that our daily routines and environments will change, which means so should your hair routines. We want to offer some easy advice and changes that you can make to help keep your hair looking amazing all the way into winter.

The heat is on at home, work, and in the salon.

Forced heat inside of buildings can dry out your hair (and skin) super quickly. We recommend a bedside humidifier if you’re noticing any major changes, and if you need to alter your moisture products, we can walk you through what would work best for each season.

Think about your hair like it’s fabric.

Have you ever noticed that the inseam of your pants legs start to wear out faster over time where the fabric touches the other side? Or the armpit part of your shirts? That’s fabric on fabric friction. Think of your hair the same way. When it rubs against turtle necks, scarves, or even your cotton pillow cases it can cause friction that creates damage or matts in the hair. Figuring out ways to pull your hair up away from those things without tension is a great little trick to preventing the damage.

What can you do to prevent dryness and breakage?

Healthy hair is hair that styles better, holds color longer, and is all around more confidence inspiring for every one of us. In salon we have amazing bond strengtheners that we can add to your service like K18 and we can even send you home with some reparative and restorative treatments/products that can help prevent or repair the damage that’s already there.

We have a list of your favorite Oribe & Kerasilk products  that your stylist can recommend to help combat any of the damage, dryness, or overall lack of healthy hair you’ve been having.

Each product does something uniquely different so that we can target your specific problems and issues.

Now that we’ve gotten your hair heat protected and restored from the summer fun after last months promotion we want to focus on what you can add to your routine to continue improving the overall health of your hair.

We have a great selection of Prep & Styling Products that are all created to actually repair the hair the more you use them. What does that mean for you? Longer Lasting Haircolor. Less Frequent Haircuts. Maintained Length & Density. The list can go on an on, and we know for a lot of our new mom’s or anyone experienced post illness related hair loss, you want to protect and hold onto every single strand you have.

These definitely aren’t a one size fits all, but it a great way. We have targeted products for your specific issues and we’d love to help you explore the ways you can use them to create the hair of your dreams at home.
We’re also really excited to start offer the K18 System as a service add on for any of your color services because it can be life changing to help prevent and repair damage from your chemical services in salon. We’re sure you’ve probably seen it all over TikTok or Instagram but we’d be happy to tell you about all the benefits this amazing system has to offer.

From the Owners

Wow. September and October have really been off to a great start, and we can’t wait to share it all with you!

We have a new Salon Director named Mamie, and we can’t wait for you all to meet her. (We’re waiting on our professional photos, haha). We’ve also brought on board a few new Stylist Team members that we’re also excited to introduce you to: Holly B, Alex, & Sarah!

Jeremy & I had the pleasure of attending one of our stylist Alyssa’s wedding in St. Lucia this past week and she was a beautiful bride. What a great time that we all had.

We also had an amazing opportunity to take 3 Oribe Haircutting Classes at the beginning of the month that will increase our skill sets as well as help us utilize our skills on multiple hair textures and lengths. Our whole team learned a ton on how to better help you use your hair products as well to get the most bang for your buck!

Overall, I have to say it’s been a pretty amazing few weeks and I can’t wait to see what the last quarter of the year holds for us all. It’s our busiest time of year so I want to encourage everyone to book online (or call/text) asap so that you get your desired days and times since we will be closed for some extended time at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

As always, much love to each and every one of you, and thank you for supporting our local small business not only now, but during the shopping craze of the holidays.

Love,
Greg & Jeremy
